Quinton Storm is back with ‘Can You Feel Me’

Written by Zach

Billboard charting singer/songwriter Quinton Storm is back with new music and just in time to heat things up for the winter. The R&B crooner gave fans just a taste of what’s to come last year with his last single ‘Caution’ , but of course as with all things the pandemic kind of put a stop to his plans. The Florida native who sites superstars like Michael Jackson , TLC , Aaliyah , Missy Elliott & Usher as some of his earlier influences has slowly but surely made a name for himself in entertainment. Over the years Quinton has worked with some of musics finest including Troy Taylor, Yonni, Cory Bold, mysto & pizzi, Kane Beats, Boi-1-da, warren oak felder and the late Kowan Pau which has only kept his growing fan base wondering when he would finally release his long awaited project.

Now with the release of his new single ‘Can You Feel Me’, it’s clear that this rising star is ready to give his fans another taste of his long awaited EP after teaming up with producers Jay Uncut and Ikey. The hypnotizing track co written by Quinton & Rahim ‘GoTo’ Roberts , is just what his fans been waiting for and is sure to be in heavy rotation as he continues to put the finishing touches on his upcoming project. In the meantime look for his feature film debut in the upcoming Jean-Claude La Marre film ‘Gangland : The Musical’ alongside Tamar Braxton, Wood Harris , Keith Robinson , Marcus T Paulk , Clifton Powell & Willie Taylor which is sure to have everyone talking. With all this on the horizon 2021 is definitely looking up for the R&B heartthrob. So go get into the new single, which is now available for download on all music streaming platforms.

Jazmine Sullivan is back with “Heaux Tales”

It’s been a while since I’ve updated, moreso because there hasn’t really been much that has moved me…..but you can now consider me “moved”! So lets get into it.

Let me start by saying, I’ve been a long time Jazmine fan. Seriously, since like the beginning, I’ve loved everything she’s provided…. that was until I heard the lead singles from this project. “Lost One” and “Pick Up Your Feelings” really did not move me. The vocals were there but the content had lost my attention, which I understand is ok, not everything is for me. But in comes “Girl Like Me” with H.E.R. and I was back in the fold. The two of them together just sound so beautiful together, it was hard not to keep that song on repeat.

Today, Jazmine released the entire project, Heaux Tales, which she has emphasized that it is an EP/Project and the album will be coming soon. And all I can say is YES! This is a conceptual album, and it works well together. 20 years ago we had what I like to refer to as the women’s empowerment movement (No Scrubs, Independent Women etc, and it feels like we are getting another round of that…just a little more grown.

After the smash hit WAP last year, Jazmine took the baton and ran with it. This project talks about how women can do crazy things for some good dick, how it feels to know when you’ve fucked up, how a woman knows her worth and should be earned, and so many more topics from a woman’s perspective. It really feels like she picked up where she left off on Mascara.

For me… the stand out tracks are Girl Like Me, Put It Down, and The Other Side. Although not my favorite, the internet is buzzing over her collab with Ari Lennox on the song “On It“. Listen below!

Album Review: Megan Thee Stallion – Suga

Suga (Megan Thee Stallion)

After making headlines this week with legal drama from her label, Megan did prevail in the court system and was able to release her musical content this week. Today she offered up, yet another EP, “Suga”.

In prior interviews he has said that her album would include this new persona, “Suga“. She has stated that her debut album would show a more vulnerable side of her. Which in all honesty that’s what many of us was waiting to see. After her issues with her label, she did some rush promotion this week and stated this is an EP, and the tracks that she liked that she has done for the album. With that being said, I do look at this as an album-ish quality, because these songs, including the albums “lead single” (B.I.T.C.H.) were actually meant to be on her album.

Let’s just say this, if this is the sound that she was going for on the album, she can just keep that whole album. The EP started out strong with Aint Equal. Solid flow, as usual, she touches on the loss of her mom and granny in the first sentence, then bam we slide back into the same old Megan. We are back at the club, talking about her pussy, this and that and well it’s pretty much repetitive. That’s pretty much the whole EP’s vibe. More of Megan’s talk about her sex, liquor and school. Some of the tracks are quite catchy and could be radio friendly, but because we’ve heard 2-3 EPs/Features before, nothing about this EP is giving us the “WOW Factor” or a memorable moment. It’s lackluster at best. I’ve always been one to say her lead single B.I.T.C.H. was a horrible choice as a lead single, although it’s not a bad song. But after hearing the rest of what she has been working on, I’m inclined to think it may have been the best she had to offer. The features were a waste, and I don’t know who told her to play around with auto tune but they should be fired.

To help the moment, she finally released the video for B.I.T.C.H., which if you ask me is a case of too little too late. The song has already done what it’s going to do, and has fallen off the Billboard Hot 100. That moment is gone, and soon I think Megan’s moment will be gone as well.
